5. User Fluency Data

When you use Arkenza services, we gather data on your fluency. This data (“User Fluency Data”) is needed by us to improve our services, but we recognize that you may not want your User Fluency Data to be associated with you as a person.

User Fluency Data includes all data that is associated with your fluency. User Fluency Data includes but is not limited to:

• user-defined lists of fluency-problematic words;

• user self ratings of fluency;

• software ratings of user fluency;

• user time spent using individual software modules;

• user-defined lists of interesting topics;

• user configuration of Arkenza services;

• decisions to move around various modules within a single Arkenza service; and

• user-defined reading level.

User Fluency Data will be encrypted in our database and will be anonymized if it is exported from our database, ensuring that your own User Fluency Data cannot be associated with you personally.

6. Processing of Your Speech

Arkenza services include software modules that process your speech, for example to transcribe your speech into text. Unless our Arkenza services clearly notify you to the contrary upon entry to a service, no recording of your speech will be made by any Arkenza service.

Some Arkenza services utilize cloud-based, third-party computing services to process your speech, for example speech-to-text. We cannot guarantee that these third-party services will not record your speech. However, Arkenza services will not identify you personally in their communications with third-party speech processing providers.

Arkenza services are engineered to clearly convey to its users the destination of their audible speech, in particular, whether any software modules process user speech and whether user speech is recorded or transmitted to other people. But Arkenza services cannot always control the audio transmissions of third party software products such as video conference services. Arkenza users should exercise diligence when operating video conference services to avoid unwanted transmission of their speech to other people.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as:
